How did you find CrossFit Aestus?

I saw an ad on Facebook.

What is your favorite part of coming to CrossFit Aestus?

My favorite part of CrossFit Aestus is the people and the challenging work outs. It was hard for me to get the courage to walk into a gym full of fit people (which only perpetuated me staying out of shape), but I've found everyone here to be very encouraging and motivating.

What advice would you give to a new member?

To keep coming, no matter what - even if you start out only coming 2 days/week. It's easy to get down on yourself when you seem stuck and not progressing, or when everyone around you is kicking your butt in the workout, but don't show up to compete with everyone else. Do what you can do and before you know it you'll be showing up more often and doing things you never believed you could do. Everyone at Aestus is there for the same reason, we're just at different stages along that journey.

What has been your proudest fitness achievement?

That I've stuck with coming to Crossfit Aestus for a WHOLE YEAR!! There's not just one fitness moment that I can say something about, because each week there's one little thing that I did better then the week before.

What motivates or inspires you?

My kids and husband. They all want to be active (hiking, biking, playing soccer, etc.) - I don't want to be the reason they have to slow up and I definitely don't want to be watching from the sidelines.

What are your hobbies?

Spending time with my family.

Coaches Thoughts:
I love it when people come in to CFA and take advantage of all the things that we can offer. I love it even more when someone stretches themselves well outside of their comfort zone in the interest of making themselves better. Gwen has been with us for a little over a year now. She has made exceptional changes. These changes are visible not only in the way that she works out, but also in the person that she has become. And she is a tremendous example of what is possible when you take that first step outside of your comfort zone.
